Gertrud Staats (1859 - 1938) -  German painter associated with Wrocław. In the years 1878-1881 she studied with Adolf Dressler, in 1882 she moved to Berlin where she studied with Hans and Franz Skarbiny Gudego.

In the years 1883-1884 she was taught in Back-ławskiej landscape painting workshop by Carl Coven Schirm. Very much travelled by painting landscapes of Germany, Austria and Silesia and Ghent. Over the years of World War she also painted still life and flowers. A large collection of works by this painter can be found at the National Museum in Warsaw and also in the museums of Wroclaw, Dresden, Hamburg and Berlin, and in numerous private collections in the country and abroad.

In 1998 in the town of Königswinter-Heisterbacherott (Germany) Museum für Landeskunde im Haus Schlesien was a huge monographic exhibition of the artist's oeuvre.
